DEAR EDITOR --- I wish to inquire for my father Wesley Jones. He married my mother, whose name was Mary, at Gonzales, Texas. She had gone from this state with her then master Summerfield Fox. After they had been married a short while my mother's master took her and her only child and moved back to Mississippi and left my father behind, he being free. My mother is now dead.
