Andy Johnson searching for his sister Rachel Carson
DEAR EDITOR ---- I wish to inquire
for my sister, Rachel Carson. She
is the daughter of Philip and Silvy
Carson. Before they were sold
they belonged to Billy Carson.
Names of their children: Andy,
Lawson, Rachel and Peggie. Sister
Rachel was sold to Mr. Mercullie,
and he took her to Texas, and
I have never heard from her since.
We were all living in North Carolina
when she was sold two years
before the war, and I have never
heard from her or father or mother.
Sister and brother are living in
Arkansas, 6 miles from Helena. I
came to Mississippi in 1874. Grandmother's
name is Judy Williams.
