Robert Cox reunited with his wife after 24 years of separation. Cox and his wife were married in 1855, but separated soon after when Cox was sold by his former enslaver. He was taken from Virginia to Georgia. After the Civil War and emancipation, Cox began to search for his wife. The couple were reunited in Virginia and traveled back to Cox's home in Georgia.
