Turner Petty searching for his half-sisters Martha and Sallie Thriff and half-brother Cornelius who he left near Clinton, LA in 1860 or '61. His sister's father Washington Thriff was a blacksmith. Turner doesn't know who Cornelius' father was. Their mother Matilda is dead. Turner's father was John Petty, also known as "Indian John". They all were enslaved by Col. Thriff and when he died, they fell to Ambrose Petty. who brought them to Texas. Turner's father fell to Geroge Petty. A Mr. Slauter was their guardian and he lived in Clinton or Trenton, LA. Uncle Raif Tariff raised him. Turner's real name is Dan but everyone calls him Turner.
