Thomas Jones returns after suddenly disappearing

Return After Ten Years.
Thomas Jones, a sort of colored Enoch
Arden, loomed up the other day at No.
1205 Wylie avenue. He was last seen
there some 10 years ago. Thomas might
have returned a little sooner, but he
was detained on account of playing a
two year engagement in the workhouse
for burglary or some other triviality.
According to Essie Baily of No. 1205
Wylie avenue, Thomas Jones came to
her home 10 years ago and engaged a
room, and while her mother was pre-
paring the apartment for his occupancy
Thomas departed so abruptly that he
didn't even say goodby. When Essie's
mother came downstairs a minute later
she not only missed her prospective lodger
but a pocketbook containing $7 which she
carelessly had left on the piano.
Years passed, but no trace of either
Jones or the pocketbook was obtained.
Like Mr. Arden, Thomas Jones turned up
Monday night. He forgot to mention
the fact that he had been there 10 years
ago and the folks didn't recognize him.
