Martha Montgomery searching for her son John Cooks
DEAR EDITOR: I wish to inquire for my son; his name is John Cooks; I have not seen him since the spring of 1887. When he left he went to Mound Landing, La., to live with a white man by the name of Edward Maxwell. A short while after he left there and went to Henderson, La. He wrote to his father while at Henderson. The postmaster says he left there in October, 1888, and I have not heard from him since. Any information of his whereabouts will be thankfully received.
