L. H. (Lord or Lloyd) Hastings Cloyd was married to Martha Edwards, the daughter of Adam & Sally/Sarah (Austin) Edwards. So Martha was looking for her brother Charles. Adam & Sally and their family were listed in the cohabitation records of Wythe County Virginia in 1866, but by 1870 they had moved to Massachusetts where they lived with their daughter Martha and L H Cloyd. I have extensively researched this family and many other enslaved families from Wythe County, Virginia, as my grandmother's maternal relatives are from the area, and I am also a descendant of the Austins. I am looking for evidence of Charles' sale away from the family.
