I believe this gentleman may be a relative of my husband's. His family (3x g-grandfather) was enslaved in TN and brought south into Alabama sometime before 1870. They settled south in Dothan. Thomas Buford of Giles TN is the likely plantation owner based on my research with regards to my husband's family. There is another branch of Bufords near Mobile who are unrelated to the TN bunch (at least during the late 1800s).

If there is any other information about Alexander available, I'd love to cross-reference it and see if he is part of the family.

My husband's family changed the spelling of their surname to Bauford in the 1900s but some have Beauford or Buford still.
