Inspector Boardman received today a let-
ter from William Woods, colored, of Gal-
veston, Texas, asking for information as to
the whereabouts of his mother, Mrs. Flora
Woods. The writer states that he served
in the navy from 1872 to 1878. The letter
was addressed: "Chief of Police, Capitol
Hill, Navy Yard, Washington, D. C."
