On Sep. 24, 1909, J.N. Saunders, a Stanford, KY attorney, placed an information wanted ad for Moses Ballard in the same newspaper. (That ad contains less information than this one). It seems that the Washington, DC law firm of Harvey Spalding & Sons placed similar ads in newspapers nationwide, soliciting business from those who might have unclaimed funds due them.
