Years before the war I was sold
by the Austin family, from Buck-
ingham [Buckingham] C. H. , Va., and was carried
to Richmond, where I remained a
short time. Mr. James Whitefield
took me from Richmond to Missis-
sippi [Mississippi], where I have remained ever
since. I was sold when but ten
years of age, by the youngest son
of the Austins. My father was
Jesse, mother Amy, oldest sister
Betsy, next Mary, other sisters
were Ann, Prudence and Amy.
Brother’s names were Daniel the
oldest, Sawny, Jesse, Tase, Davy
and Cambrick. We all belonged
to the Austin family, near Buck-
ingham [Buckingham], C. H., Va. Address, box
1, Columbus, Miss.
