Thompson, of Newport, Rhode Island, escaped from slavery in Frederick, Maryland, 46 years earlier [ca 1830].

Caroline Campbell ran away from Dr. Hughes, Montgomery County, Maryland, during the Civil War (1863). Went to Washington, DC.

Rev. J. Preston Watson, sold on the auction block many times, ran away from his owner and was taken in by Captain Thomas Gannon of the Ninth Missouri Cavalry for the duration of the war.

Mrs. Sarah Bell is searching for her husband Stephen Crab, also known as Pheonix. He belonged to Jerry Crab in Platte County, MO and ran away about 3 or 4 years before the war. I used to belong to William Clay.
